I became politically involved in May of 2005. I was appalled at the state of the government in Ottawa, the utter disfunction of the Parliament of Canada and the hopelessness of a Confederation formed when sailing ships were the norm. The last vestige of the British Empire plays out as the West 'gets in' and finds it will be forever and purpose designed to favor the Central Canada that Confederation began with. The West will always be colonies to be drained of wealth. Enough.
